Located in a majestic early 20th-century neo‑Baroque building originally constructed as the largest telecommunications centre in Eastern and Central Europe, Kozmo Hotel Suites & Spa underwent an exacting three-year renovation undertaken by GCA Architects [1].

Every detail was preserved or restored: hand‑painted ceilings, parquet floors, original red tiles from the historic Zsolnay porcelain factory, and an incredible main staircase, Budapest’s second-largest, second only to the Parliament building [2].

The outcome? A harmonious blend of old-world elegance and modern design. The lobby welcomes guests with high ceilings, artful touches, velvet seating, and a striking palette of greys and jewel tone.

Guest Experience: Warm Hospitality & Immaculate Service

With 84 rooms and suites, Kozmo delivers refined comfort and personalized service at every turn. Thoughtful touches, such as Penhaligon’s toiletries (infamous for its royal connections), a curated minibar stocked with vegan and gluten‑free treats, and a Kozmo "cookie" upon arrival raise the guest experience from pleasant to memorable 2].

Feedback is resoundingly positive:

“Everything about the Kozmo hotel was perfect… from the breakfast… the rooms… the spa and pool… to the attentive and friendly staff.” [3]

“The staff… professional and kind… exceptional service starts from the moment guests arrive…[4]

A Spa Sanctuary Beneath the Surface

Descending into its basement spa located within former bunker tunnels, visitors find a serene retreat complete with a 17 m heated pool, Finnish sauna, jacuzzi, gym, and treatment rooms using Valmont and Adrienne Feller products [5].

The spa’s elegant underground design evokes quiet calm, complemented by vintage architectural details like stained-glass windows and old photographs .

Dining, Design & Destinations

Guests dine in the Oyster Bar or Bistro Restaurant, where Hungarian favourites like beef-cheek goulash and apricot-linzer desserts meet refined international flavors often in a live-cooking format [2].

The hotel’s art collection includes photography by Carlos Cánovas and frescoes by Lluis Lléo, lending a gallery-like ethos throughout public areas and rooms [1].

Beyond its interiors, Kozmo’s location on Haven Mihály tér places guests within easy walking distance of landmarks including the Great Synagogue, Central Market Hall, and the Danube banks [5].

History & Legacy: From State Building to Hotel Icon

Since opening in late 2021, Kozmo has quickly gained acclaim among travelers and design aficionados alike. Notably, its launch coincided with the MTV Awards, drawing a stylish clientele from around the globe, including high-profile creative guests such as Ed Sheeran [2].

By sensitively transforming a historically significant building into a sanctuary of contemporary luxury, Kozmo sets a fine example of blending architectural restoration with bold hospitality innovation.
